TOSHIBA RCOU3A, Four-Circuit Loop Start CO Line Interface Unit![]() The Toshiba RCOU3A is a CO (Central Office/ Dial tone) interface card for Toshiba phone systems. The RCOU Circuit card interfaces with up to four analog phone company dial tone lines supplied by the local phone provider. Unlike the BDKU, the RCOU utilizes RJ14 mod-plug connectors. The current version of the RCOU is the RCOU3A. The RCOU3A is approved for usage with Toshiba IP systems. The use of a RCOU1 with a Toshiba IP connection (Voip) will likely result in jitter and echo. Do not use the “A1” version card with VoIP. To get a quote on either a RCOU1 or RCOU3A contact Nova.
Four Circuits per PCB: The RCOU has a sister circuit card called the RCOS. The "S" in RCOS stands for sub-assemble. The RCOS snaps onto the RCOU and provides an additional 4 circuits of CO interface for a total of 8 COs. The RCOU1A is less expensive card than the A3. The RCOU1A are no longer manufactured, however top quality refurbished RCOU1A are available at WWW.CableSupply.com. For more information on the RCOU and RCOS please visit the Toshiba General Description section of this web site.
